I am an experienced planner with knowledge and practice in many different branches of urban planning, including housing/social planning, transportation planning, strategic planning and policy development, environmental/conservation/parks planning, and urban design.
I can assess rough neighbourhoods, bad corners for traffic, community gathering places, malls, parking lots, schools, hospitals, transit systems, residential neighbourhoods, and more.
Smaller cities with limited planning staff will benefit from my "jack-of-all-cities" approach, which allows me to fill the gaps of their training and expertise.
Larger cities with widely dispersed planning resources will benefit from my ability to bring staff together around common goals, to direct policy, and to recommend clear, actionable solutions.
During my visit, I am happy to make presentations to the public on urban planning topics.
I would also be pleased to speak with school groups, community associations, civic staff, city councils, and more.
You will receive a summary report following the consultation.
You will also receive a CD/DVD of photos and/or videos which I capture during my assessment.
My standard rate** includes all meals, travel expenses (including flights and/or gas mileage), transportation costs (e.g., taxis to/from the airport), accommodation, and incidentals.
* "Full Days" consist of a consecutive 8-hour period, generally between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm. I'm human, so breaks will be required for meals, snacks, etc.
** Rates are subject to change. In the event of a rate change, confirmed bookings will retain the rate at which they booked their consultation. Cities which are difficult and/or expensive to travel to, such as island communities, northern cities, or countries outside of Canada, may be quoted a higher rate to cover additional transportation/time costs.
